GWH is funded by the APHA Diseases of Wildlife Scheme which receives funding from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) through the Scanning Surveillance Programme.

GWH also receives funding from Defra’s Strategic Evidence Fund.

The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and UFAW also provide funding for GWH.

Where funds are required to support additional GWH research projects, partner organisations work in consultation with each other to obtain grants.

The partner organisations and collaborating organisations will explore fund-raising opportunities to support GWH beyond the current funded-period.
